Bill Roswell

As KYW Newsradio’s Director of Digital News and Media, Bill Roswell (a member of the Broadcast Pioneers) has helped fine tune and expand the station’s "All News All The Time" format during his more than 30 years with the station.

Born in Washington, DC, Bill graduated from Cherry Hill High School West. It was at Cherry Hill West that he began his radio career by broadcasting the morning announcements over the school's public address system. Bill started working at WCAM right out of high school as a news anchor, reporter and DJ, and was a stringer news reporter for several area radio stations, including WCAU and WIBG.

Bill is currently the regional director for the Radio TV Digital News Association (RTDNA), representing Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey, and had served as the Association’s chairman as well as chair of the Radio TV Digital News Foundation. He is on the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Associated Press Broadcasters Association, having served two terms as president of the PAPBA, and is a board member of the Philadelphia Press Association.

At KYW Newsradio, Bill has reported on and helped direct coverage of many of the biggest events in the station’s history, including the 1985 Move confrontation, Live Aid and Live 8, and the elections of Pope Benedict in 2005 and Pope Francis in 2013. He has receiving numerous awards over the years, including an Edward R. Murrow award for coverage of the death of Pope John Paul II.

Bill and his wife, Kathi, live in South Jersey and have three daughters. In his spare time, Bill enjoys singing with his wife in the church choir, playing the guitar and piano, and tickling the keyboard of his home computer and piano.

On Friday evening, November 22, 2013, Bill Roswell was inducted into the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia's "Hall of Fame."
