Broadcast Pioneers member Don Henderson

Broadcast Pioneers member Don Henderson says: “I never worked a day in my life. I just had fun.”

Don was with WCAU Radio and their call letter successors from 1969 to 1995. That’s two lifetimes for most broadcasters.

He did Phillies pre and post game shows, Philadelphia 76'ers play-by-play radio and TV, Philadelphia Race Track TV broadcasts and Temple University football and basketball play by play radio and television.

He retired from CBS Radio O&O broadcasts in 1995 and Temple University in 2004. He currently lives in Sarasota, Florida as a snow bird spliting time between there and Sea Girt, NJ. He was also the voice of the Miami Hurricanes football team on Sports Channel Florida in during 2007. He was also active with Comcast Sports and TV Channel 21 (Sarasota) Talk TV Sports. He says that he enjoys a lot of golf.

Currently, Henderson is Co Anchor on Blog Talk Radio with Tommy Gilbert and Internet Co-Host on WSRL, Sarasota Radio Sports and Talk and Enterainment. There, he conducts interviews with personalities such as Bill Cosby , Jeff Torborg and Phil Mushnick, columnist for the NY Post and other sports figures.
