Scholarships
In April of 2025, as in so many years past, The Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia awarded scholarships to outstanding, undergraduate students who are studying radio, TV, film production and associated fields in media.
Our organization does this out of a foundational belief that we must help to support the next generation of talented, multi-media professionals. The generous donors who provided those scholarships clearly feel the same way.
Now, we are offering another round of scholarships to be awarded in April of 2026.
To qualify for a scholarship, you must be a current college sophomore or junior who demonstrated academic excellence and professional potential.
The scholarship award is designed for use in your junior or senior year.
These scholarships will be bestowed at our April 15, 2026 Scholarship luncheon. Winners MUST attend this event to receive the scholarship. There are No exceptions to this policy.
The scholarship must be used for tuition only. There are no exceptions to this policy.
This year, as was the case in previous years, our process starts with an on-line application.
You do not need to be a member of the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia to apply.
You do need to have, either, your permanent residence in the Delaware Valley (or surrounding area ) or you need to study at a College, University or Community College in the Delaware Valley.
You must also be a communications major or major in an associated field of study.
You must attend school full-time.
The initial electronic form asks for information that may require confirmation at a later date.
Supplying inaccurate, incorrect or improper information will disqualify you from entering the competition and/or from receiving a scholarship.
We may also request additional information, should you be selected as a finalist. In order to enter, students are required to have a GPA of 3.0 or higher for their entire collegiate career.
You will need to provide a transcript verifying your GPA.
The deadline for submission is Friday, March 20 at 11:59pm ET.
Take your best shot. You will never win if you don’t apply. Good Luck!
